·The striking reference 20706 running Cal. 263 inside, circa 1945. The beautiful slight lugs and a jaunty red seconds hand give this little gem real charm. I don’t know whether the hand is definitely correct but we do see them on other UG three-handlers, perhaps most notably the Outdoorsman.

the red second hand is not especially looking red in this pic, probably lighting, but I'm nearly 100% sure that these tail-less red hands on various cal 263 models are stock, I've seen them so much. They would have really popped in their original red color before fading over time.
anyhow, this one looks great, I love the case and dial combo

For your efforts here’s a better photograph of the red hand in question on my watch. It has lost some of its lustre for sure. But haven’t we all?

yes that's much more visible, good pic. I think it's looks perfect, a bright red hand would probably look jarring on this.
