Beautiful, I love this style. It would be cool if someone would do a modern issue with same qualities but in 36-38mm.
I assume yours is a threaded case back? I have a slightly different style which requires a bayonet case back (missing) and I haven't figured out what to do with it. Fabricating from scratch probably not worth it and doubt I will ever find one.

Thank you @bgrisso

Yes, it`s a screwback. I remember reading about your missing
caseback. Can you post a picture or a link?

Sure, this one is 29mm, missing the stem and crown, and caseback, which looks to be a double bayonet. I was wondering if it might be possible to fabricate out of plastic or something cheaper like that, but have not researched. I also have not been able to find any other Universal Sport marked dials so far, although people keep saying they have seen them before, just haven't been able to turn up pics....

Yes, the bayonet patent is very rare and unusual. I have encountered 100+
of those faceted cases from different makers. But never seen one bayonet IRL. Here you can see it refered to as «brevete 1008» in a watchmakers handbook from 1948

@bgrisso

cool, thanks for this info, much appreciated. Any suggestions on how to get a caseback? I presume to fabricate a caseback out of stainless would be really expensive? The mvmt alone looks a bit suspect, not sure how much $ will be involved in getting that serviced and running. But I would really love to get it fully operational again.
