Looks incredible. Congrats Mark!
That’s a good thread. Watches that have OF stewardship provenance. I have a few. One from very far back to the start of the UG Sub Forum.

Thanks Larry, it’s part of what makes this hobby/passion so enjoyable - as you know!

What I want to know is how I can join the cult of underground horology enthusiasts who gather around a table periodically in a clandestine location and make watch deals such as this happen without projecting it to the masses....

You have to worship the high priestsof horology, present them expensive gifts on a regular basis, praise their timekeepers and make obscene and completely insane offers.

The striking reference 20706 running Cal. 263 inside, circa 1945. The beautiful slight lugs and a jaunty red seconds hand give this little gem real charm. I don’t know whether the hand is definitely correct but we do see them on other UG three-handlers, perhaps most notably the Outdoorsman.

the red second hand is not especially looking red in this pic, probably lighting, but I'm nearly 100% sure that these tail-less red hands on various cal 263 models are stock, I've seen them so much. They would have really popped in their original red color before fading over time.

anyhow, this one looks great, I love the case and dial combo

Here's a close to NOS example with the red paint pretty intact. Looking at this makes me wonder why I ever sold this watch.

Ah yes, I remember this one. Beautiful! I had hoped you’d chip in on the red hand as the owner of at least 791 cal 263’s in the past 👍

For your efforts here’s a better photograph of the red hand in question on my watch. It has lost some of its lustre for sure. But haven’t we all?

yes that's much more visible, good pic. I think it's looks perfect, a bright red hand would probably look jarring on this.

Thanks! Was listed on a second hand sales website but just listed as ‘lot of 5 vintage watches’.
Was in an antique mall in Rapid City SD this week. Eagerly dug into a big bowl of watches, sadly all miserable junk. The internet has made finds like this rare.
