I've not seen that dial before. Fascinating!

Do you know the reference #? I'd guess that it has the cal. 23Z?
@argonbeam @yako54

I've seen that dial on a early-mid 60's manual, which leads me to believe this watch is from that period. The sub-dial automatic movement would either be a 350 or 352. A similar model is the 2671 World's Fair with triple bar at 12,3,6,9 and the double bar for the other hour markers. That can be found at vintagewatchresources.com, and that was a 60's watch. It has some variations on the crown inset into the dial, etc. A caseback shot would help, as much of the 60's casebacks started to look different from the 50's.

Hopefully, @Chandler will provide us with some details and pics when he gets it (and also make a nice avatar pic out of it, too 👍)

I've heard that called a hurricane dial before. Bet it looks amazing in person.

Because it's appears to be spinning in the clockwise direction, do we have to call it a Typhoon? 😜
Or we could be really official and call it a "Tropical Rotating Storm" ::stirthepot::

I will provide some more pics soon! Just picked it up!

It was sold as "serviced" However most of us know on eBay serviced means running horribly haha. Running 120 seconds slow a day 🙁

"Dear Mr. Xxxxxxx,
Thank you for your email and interest in Longines watches. Following your request, I have the pleasure to give you here below the information I found in our old hand-written registers :
The serial number 563’168 identifies a pocket watch in metal fitted with Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 18L. It was invoiced to Baume & C°, who was for many years our agent for the UK, on 22.02.1890.
The name T.R. Russell of Liverpool engraved should be the retailer. It was common at a time to print the retailer’s name on the dial or to engrave his name on the movement.
Hoping this information is convenient to you, I remain at your entire disposal for any additional request you may have.
Best regards,

Jennifer Bochud

Simply amazing that Longines has retained their 127+ year old sales records and even references them as a complimentary service to current owners... gotta love Longines for this!

+1 It's a pity others who have similar records charge for it. Zenith used not to, but now do. I think Omega and IWC always charged? I can completely understand charging a fee for a printed extract from the archives, but it would be nice if others gave basic info like Longines over an email.
