The archives don't mention the case was locally licensed. Is that the original case?

It looks like it is not the case the watch was built for. The pin for the pin set is longer than the guards so the original case was bigger in diameter. You can see from the oxidation on the pin, it was recased recently.

Hi Seji, case looks like it's definitely swapped at some point but I was more inclined that it came with smaller case because there is huge gap between case and minute track.

That's stunning! What is the reference please?

No case reference for this, but is houses a 15.94 movement and was invoiced to Zipper, Polish agent in 1935.

Thanks for showing that - it's beautiful and remarkable in several ways! For education, please can you say more about this one?

It is a reference 2554, cal 340, ca 1962. This one is an American market watch.

Many of these are seen with dials marked GRAND PRIZE. I have yet to find another with this exact dial.

Beautiful one indeed... I recently saw and held one of the Grand Prize version. It was intriguing in a sense, as 19mm lug width seemed to visually shrink the dial/case. I don't know, at least to my eyes

This is a cool Deco one I’ve had for years… the dial may have been refinished at some point but it’s triple signed and really in excellent condition. Killer style and the 2-tone rose & yellow 14k case is pretty darn cool…
It’s got the original faceted glass crystal too, which slightly distorts the dial printing… but the printing is ok.
