My first post as a new participant in vintage watch collecting.

Purchased this white gold, hand winder along with a mid 60's Omega Constellation on Ebay recently.
Seller had no internal photos for either watch so I took a bit of a chance.
The seller claimed they both were from the same estate.

I was wondering if the watch had been modified and the textured bezel added but I have found some similar models online. Only found one other example with the notch for the crown. Please comment if you have any input on the case or any other aspect of this piece.

When I received the watches, I took them both to a local horologist to get checked out.
He felt this Longines had never been opened and could benefit from a service. The Omega was in perfect shape, had recently been serviced and needed nothing.

Thanks to resources on this site, this seems to be a late 50's watch.

Service will take about 3 months but I look forward to wearing this beauty on special occasions.

Many thanks to Omega forums members for the wealth of information available on this site.

Legitimate piece, late 1950's movement, as you have discerned. Case and dial original. Looks identical to model 2671 at vintagewatchresources.com. I have seen these now and then. Yours looks to be barely used and in good shape. The 23z movement looks pristine and is a nice, reliable, movement. Longines produced all manner of different designs for the American market in the 50's and 60's, and this is a nice example. Love the linen-style dial.

Picked up my new Nonius a couple of years ago, about a week later, I found the original version in 18k with the box and all of the paperwork. This was the one I originally lusted after, so I knew I had to have the set. The stars all fell into alignment and now I have both together.

I hope everyone is familiar with the Vernier complication. The old version uses the 10th split and the newer uses an 8th of a second split. They are just so cool and the Vernier harkens back to my machinist/engineering/metrology days.

Beautiful watches gentlemen and a complication, that I believe, does not exist on any other watch out there.

Lovely dial. Silver case? Caliber 12.68Z? These British-bound movements had nice, purple screws. Thank you for sharing.
