Very nice movement ConElPueblo!
I think Longines and Cyma made during that time several high end movements that are still underestimated. A real pleasure to look at and to service!

Nothing fancy, but a timepiece from my dad made it special.

New acquisition very cheap (almost all my acquisitions!). Bought for the nice movement for the most part, but also liked the stainless case (as opposed to gold-filled) and the original crown. Looks better in person than photos and will clean up nicely with some case work and a new crystal. 1956 or so given serial number.

I don't have a lot of photos of watches at this point nor are they the best in the west but here are a couple of the Longines favorites.

Here's a 1954 automatic featuring the 19AS movement in a 14kt case. The sunburst dial gives a much better appearance in person than is rendered in the photo.

Here's an older photo taken for a thread on a firearms forum. The subject was the firearm but a watch just had to be "snuck" into the photo. In this instance, a 1945 Longines with the 27M movement in an 18kt rose gold case. Not the best view of the watch which features a guilloche dial with a delicate linen look. The watch is wearing a nicer band these days than it was sporting at the time the photo was taken.

I like the vintage Longines and vintage Longines like me. There are several on hand and they give good trouble-free service. Decent servicing is all they ask, just like any car. The two above have been worn regularly for a number of years and are among the vintage watches I've had the longest.

Sorry for stalking these older posts, I'm fairly new to the vintage watch collecting, and one thing I find myself doing is trawling through the old Omega and Longines forum for research. Stumbled across your Longines 1954 automatic, just wanted to say how much of a gorgeous looking piece you have there, simply stunning, and thank you for sharing...almost three years ago but oh well! 😀

Well I collect tool watches so this recent find of a 1945 Longines 12.68N BOAC navigators watch even with unusual dial ticked all the boxes for me

Since I've seen this japanese 70s ad about Ultra-Chron chronometer, I decided I need to have all the SS version pictured
(at that time I had only one)
Mission accomplished now, then I need another excuse for the next purchase
