I hope I don’t get scolded too badly for sharing my
aspirational collection. I would like to present what I consider to be a well rounded assortment of three distinctly different watches from Omega. I couldn’t possibly derail such a great thread without at least providing some pretty photos. THESE ARE NOT MINE; I just found them on the Internet.
I would start with the
Speedmaster Professional 105.012, a cornerstone of any Omega collection. I love this reference in particular for it’s connection to the moonwalk and the introduction of the Professional distinction and asymetric case design that has continued to this day.
Next, I would chose the
Seamaster 300M GMT “Great White” 2538.20. I am one of the suckers with a nostalgic connection to the Goldeneye Seamaster, however I could never quite see myself with that particular reference. For me, the Great White offers the feel of that generation in a package that I would be far more satisfied with.
Finally, the
Aqua Terra “Skyfall” 231.10.39.21.03.001 represents a simple refinement that won’t be out of place if worn casually or with a suit.
To me the spread of matte black, white wave, and blue teak dial designs along with the spread from the sports chrono, traveler GMT, and sophisticated simplicity offer so much versatility that you could cover all possible bases and have pieces with a good story.
