Possible value looking to sell

Hi whether you are the potential buyer or seller I wouldn't get too excited over that watch. The gold plating is worn off the edges and the dial has a stain so it might not be worth what it's going to cost to get it serviced. For me I would hesitate to buy it for more than $100.

Edit: Hard to see in the photo but if that brown mark near the 11:00 area is only on the acrylic crystal and not a stain on the dial then I would double my estimate on value 馃憤

Hello, it would be hard to give you an accurate estimate without seeing the inside of the case and the movement.

In addition, to make any sale post on the forum you first have to reach 200 meaningful posts and then post it in the dedicated sales section.

Also I see you asked about this watch in your previous thread, you won't get much different answers by starting a new one.

Sorry about that I completely forgot that I previously posted i cant find out about the movement as I'm not confident enough to attempt to take it apart

If you want you can disclose where you are located and some of us will try to recommend a trustworthy watchmaker that could help you with that.
May not be worth your trouble due to the relatively low value.

Well I didn't notice his previous thread but I can see from the previous pictures that the dial is damage-free and the brown spot was on the crystal. I think $200 is a fair number for him to shoot for considering it needs a crystal and service.

I do agree, but I think you can find someone on eBay to pay considerably more than $200.

You might be right although an honest description revealing that it runs and stops could limit the bidding?

I might be wrong too, but I still think some buyers will see Omega Seamaster and get excited. I am amazed at what some watches go for on eBay.

I have to agree , many people that know nothing just buy a watch for the sake of the name and get ripped off on ebay seen it many times .

Sometimes they get ripped off, but if it is an honest, open auction can you say they have been ripped off?

If the seller is honest about the originality or not of the parts and wether or not the dial has been refinished then no , some people just dont care about resale value at all.

If it were a watch I really wanted (sorry, not this one) and there was a need for a service, that wouldn't stop me, because I get them serviced anyways unless there is a compelling reason not to, which in my case, was a pictured receipt.

I sometimes prefer bidding on an auctions for a watch that is running poorly. Probably will cost little more than a service to fix and less competition.

I agree with the estimate above but given the prices i see omegas sellling for on ebay I'm sure it would sell for more.
