Where to sell a gold omega bracelet?

I have a solid 14k gold Omega bracelet that I’m considering selling, but I’m struggling to determine both the best marketplace and its fair value.

I haven’t been able to find another example of this exact bracelet, so I assume it’s fairly uncommon. It weighs 32.5 grams and, while it’s worth at least its melt value, I assume it should be worth more.

A few details:

  • Solid 14k gold
  • Weight: 32.5g
  • 18mm end links, fitting the Omega 168.005 and a wide range of similar vintage Omega references
  • A couple of old repairs, but it’s fully functional and perfectly wearable

I’m based in Europe but have no issue selling internationally if that’s where the right buyers are.

My questions are:

  1. Where would you recommend selling something like this? I feel eBay may take a long time, and it’s difficult to know how to price it
  2. What would you expect a bracelet like this to be worth in today’s market?

Any advice or comparable sales would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Stick it on eBay with all the details you’ve posted above, including min and max length and close ups of any repairs.
You’ll know fairly quickly if someone is willing to pay above scrap for it.

At one time, a bracelet like this would have been worth more than its scrap value - because Omega collectors would place a premium on an Omega bracelet - but because of the meteoric rise in gold value the intrinsic value has outstripped any collector value.
If gold stabilises at this higher value (I believe it’s already dropped significantly recently) the collector value would add a further premium - but that isn’t the case right now.

Find an appropriate Omega 14k gold watch that you like, buy it, put this strap on it and enjoy the hell out of it.

It would be a crime for the bracelet to end up scrapped.

It would - and if it is offered somewhere like eBay I don’t think it would end up scrapped as there will be Omega collectors who will want it to use rather than for scrap.

The fact that it has been (less than subtly) advertised here should elicit some offers without it hitting eBay.

Might have to try Ebay then. Although I haven't had great success with Ebay unless there are mainstream items. Perhaps because I'm a EU seller. I've had watches sitting there for months just for them to sell for more via C24 within weeks. Accessories on C24 feels like a pretty cold market tho.

I've enjoyed it for quite some time. I've had it on two different 18k pie pans; but one is now sold and I'm planning on selling the other as well. Might end up regretting it but that's a part of the game 😅

Yes I refuse to let it get scrapped. That's the primary reason I'm avoiding putting it up for a no reserve auction. Too scared Omega buyers won't find it and I just end up selling to a scrapper. And I'm allergic to auctions with reserve prices..

Not enough posts to put on here in the sell buy section but I am sure the PM sections works well and after all where else might you find better eyes than here. Hopefully it will stay somewhere where it's appreciated rather than the melt pot.

Another thing to note is that you can always find the gold Omega but it's very very difficult to get a Karet gold strap clasp and end links like this!
