Hand delivery only, and beat to hell in just about every regard. I know a fellow WIS in Porto who could have handled the deal on my behalf and considered it for about 2.54 seconds, but then remembered that I would need to separately source alpha hands and a Base 1000 bezel, which would still leave me with a plain unattractive 2915-3. Pass.

If someone is looking for a project watch on a level far beyond my own capabilities, however, here ya go!

It's amazing what a paper bag filled with 30,000 Euros will get you.

I think that would clean up pretty well.
Rare watch, hands are out there, bezels.......not so much.

Maybe it would be worth it if the dial were good... but that one looks to be in terrible shape.

I thought it looked really good until I realised the auction was for the watch under the photo.

A bite rough round the edges . But a wee gem if someone is willing to put in the time and effort .

I guess this will just be chalked up as a difference of opinions, but that is beyond saving to me. The only way that's attractive again is if the lume is scrapped and re-done, and it's kitted together with a bezel and hands that weren't born on the watch. Sure, at that point you'd have a decent looking 2915-3, but for me, it's simply a really expensive project watch.

We all know what opinions are like though!

I think the seller is too scared or too greedy, as well as naive, to successfully sell this watch.

He seems terrified that someone will make a profit on his watch.

really the best way to sell this is take some photos of JUST THE WATCH (for gods sake why do people do that? Im buying the watch not a book) and then put it up on Ebay .99 cents and watch it fly to all the clever people who think they can make a watch.

In this case the people with the least knowledge will win it - and it will go for a strong price.

I hate sellers like this. Its like giving a toddler a tazer and an expresso.

No one can possibly feel good at the end of the day.

If this watch goes auction style, I do not think seller will not get anything close to what his asking. Maybe he is too deep in to this watch already.

Portuguese are genetically tough negotiators, but $32,000USD in THAT condition! Not even in the ball park yet. Probably fishing for that ONE buyer with deep pockets and a shallow knowledge base.

Kirill has a base 1,000 for $10k which makes it a $42k watch.................that lume would be difficult to stomach though.......and hands............will this seem good value (albeit still unappetizing) in a couple of years time..............

A free paperclip I believe.
Did not scrutinize it under a scanning electron microscope, but I would hope that for ten large it might be adequately close to the real deal.

The ad reminds me of when people take pictures of themselves with less attractive friends to look better in comparison. Except that he's just making the watch look worse in comparison. Hard pass, best of luck to the restorer.
