Nice GSOTM variant, but I would have preferred a true Moonwatch limited edition as the PCA watch.

Is this a new thing..ultra-limited Special Editions? Maybe they have the manufacturing process optimized so that they can create a unique edition quickly. I would think you might get new high net worth customers sucked into the brand for the novelty of the special branding.

I'm really not sure how this will do. 99 watches is a very small run. I guess there's enough uncertainty about the appeal of this piece to the PCA member base that it was safer to go with small volume. Seems like the watch to buy if you're set on a xSOTM. It looks good and the price premium over standard GSOTM isn't too bad.

99 pieces is more like an actual limited edition

“Ultra rare” only in the Omega paradigm

PCA's last LE was 60 pieces in SS, and 6 in white gold, so 99 is actually a lot for them.

Talked to some PCA buds. This may be sold out already. Some folks got confirmation emails this morning. Those who signed on later didn't get email.

I got a confirmation yesterday afternoon, but just that I had registered. It indicated they needed to sort through all the requests and determine the 99, and then they will send a follow-up email with payment info.

Well, so much for that -- payment will be within the next few days.
That's good. Hopefully the near-immediate payment will reduce the flipping riffraff.

Not sure about that, but they did make it a tad more difficult for themselves by claiming "first come, first serve at 12pm EST"... but also claiming that filling out the interest form on the website before that time would increase your priority... 😕

Also, the email and promo articles said "exclusively for PCA members", but the website didn't... if that's true, they must have had to go through the list and validate memberships by name/address.

Anyhow, got my confirmation this afternoon, so now... time to break out the special 37 day advent calendar, right? 😁

well the beauty is it is PCA, and not PCNA. PCA only cares that you are a PCA members. You could have a single '84 924 and that is okay as far as PCA is concerned. No need to have ever purchased a brand new Porsche to be in PCA.

Looks like I was in on time, as I got the invoice a few minutes ago. I have not clicked through yet to see if I was able to secure the # I requested, as there is no indication in the confirmation email.

I got the first email, still waiting for link email to pay. Did it come from the same person?

let the watch see the flipper....

Wonder what these will fetch. Personally for $13k I can this of better pieces. It might be 99 pieces made but its not for me.

It is definitely a tough call. I have been a PCA member for 18+ years, and pretty heavily involved at the volunteer end of it for the last ~8 years.

A GSotM is $12k per Omega, making the $13k seem like only a small premium. Bun in fact this PCA watch has the 2nd clock subdial versus the chrono,, so the comparable watch is $8.6k according to Omega's web site. So it's more like a 50% premium.

Definitely not a 'flip it' watch, as audience is basically limited to PCA members (which is a very small subset of US). But it is hard to find records of any of the two previous PCA watches getting resold. I was suprised to not find an old ads for the Chopard when I looked the other day. So my biggest concern is the liquidity should a financial emergency occur a little ways down the road.

I have heard that this LE did, indeed, sell out yesterday.

I agree, I can’t imagine too many profiteers. The internet says there are over 100k PCA members, so 99 is about right for people like myself and BlackTalon who are 1) actually watch people and 2) into Omega and most importantly 3) willing to shell out for it within a few hours. My experience so far with the local club hasn’t uncovered many other WIS... these guys just really seem to be into the cars. 😀
