Any other PCA members in the house on board for this piece just announced this morning? I'm in, I really like the speedmaster racing look, and ceramic case! Doesn't seem too over branded either, just a nice nod on the back crystal. And only 99 made, a proper limited edition! www.pcatime.com
Ahh - I neglected to read the fine print...it does say that it comes with a rebuilt 915 transmission (Synchro's not included).... Makes me feel better now!
I like how that statement is on a picture of a mockup that is clearly incorrect ("Grey side of the moon"???) I took that statement to be highly optimistic, but we'll see... other interesting point is that it appears it will be shipped directly from PCA, and not delivered through boutiques.
Yeah, I thought the promised delivery time was interesting But in all fairness, it doesn't look like they have to do much of anything that is too special. The sapphire caseback seems far, far simpler then that of, say, the Silver Snoopy, and the dial looks to only get the LE # added to it. A strap w/ deployant would be nice at the price point, and more in line with the current xSotM lineup. I heard it was originally priced at $10,000, and they would include a 944. But then they found people are willing to pay $3k more to not have to deal with the 944
They state in the info that the GSotM engraving is part of it. I suspect because these are basically GSotMs with a little yellow bling added.
Yeah, just saw that. And I just realized this really is more of a subtle tweak on the grey side than an actual ceramic edition of the "speedmaster racing". Anyhow, all that said, considering I've always been fond of the grey side and have never bit, I'm cool with this LE. I'm also shocked it's out of 99 and not like 2911 or something crazy like they've been doing.
The Chopard PCA watch was only a total of 66 (6 were white gold and 60 were stainless steel). But I definitely agree 99 seems to be quite low for Omega -- I was surprised to see this.
I wish they'd make a 42mm professional speedy with a ceramic case! Just can't fit a watch this big and thick on my feminine wrists
I had a bit of back and forth email exchange with PCA Time, and they seemed to indicate that they got enough interest to sell out today. Of course, once it comes time (very soon) to pony up the dough, who knows how many people will fall through.
