Hi friends,

This is my first post on OF, after visiting many times in the past to educate myself through the depth of your collective knowledge. The lengthy thread on the UG Polerouter Sub in this sub-forum, with its explorations into the differences in dials, case design and material, has been particularly valuable in learning how to identify (non-)legit examples!

That said, there's one thing I wasn't able to find a clear answer to in the archives (perhaps due to my searching inefficiencies): do the cross-hatched crowns on a Ref 20369 Sub differ from the cross-hatched crowns on EPSA super compressors? If so, can you please tell me in which ways? Dimensions? Features? Material?

Thanks much!

To my knowledge, the UG Polerouter Sub has an EPSA Super Compressor case although it does not display the typical Super Compressor helmet logo on the inside or outside of the case.

The UG crowns are slimmer than most typically found on these cases, although some other brands such as Enicar also used slimmer crowns (albeit those were signed I believe). It's also noticeable that the hatching on the UG crowns does not extend to the very edge of the crown.

I attach some photos below of examples I've owned where the top crown is signed. The final image with two matching crowns is courtesy of Roy & Sacha Davidoff. I believe that all of the UG hatched crowns, whether two matching or single with a larger signed crown, were identical.

Would love to be corrected on any of the above. I've handled a few examples but if I'm honest, details such as crown size, hatching etc sometimes pass me by.

Thanks for your response and these detailed shots! Really a big help to have close up, visual references in differentiating the features between the types of cross-hatched crowns that appear to have been used on different SC's. I wonder if this slimmer, more 'stepped' version, like on the samples above, was used exclusively on 40mm SC's?

I'll admit: my curiosity is because I've taken on the insane hunt for one of these crowns, to replace the non-original example on my newly-acquired Sub. Knowing how difficult it is going to be to source, and how pricy it will undoubtedly be, I'd like to be as sure as I can be about fit and features.

Probably a long shot, but would anyone be able to share the measurements for the crown tube diameter and stem thread for an original UG crown?
