Just seen a steel Polerouter very similar to watchknuts recent buy:
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/um-what-polerouter-did-i-just-buy.38284/#post-444787
It's described as having a 138ss bumper movement. However, my online investigation tells me that the name was changed from Polarouter to Polerouter in 1958 and the movement changed from 138ss to Cal. 215 in 1955 so presumably in 1958, when the name was changed, they'd not be using a 138ss.
    Am I correct ?

Don't know where you're getting your information from but you can have a Polerouter with a cal. 138SS...

Your info seems to be wrong on both counts.

Thanks. I saw the watch at auction, was attracted to it, did some online searching and came up with the info. Nice to know it could be ok. It seems that one of the bumper springs is missing so there might be some damage. The dial does not have Swiss at the 6 O'clock position.
Is that a no no or normal ?

The "swiss" is often tucked very snug to the chapter ring. In addition, the type is sometimes faded, making it all the more difficult to detect. Do have another look and let us know if you find anything.

In my own scan, I have noted that 215 non-date models lack the term swiss. Most 138s I've seen have it, with the exception of one I ran into recently. In UG land, as elsewhere, @Tony C 's maxim of considering a piece in totality is a good one. I wouldn't let something like absence of swiss on a 138 deter me if all else checked out.
