Polerouter De Luxe Original Finish

Hi everybody,

I’ve purchased a Polerouter De Luxe which I’m super excited about. It’s a reference 10357-1 and the case looks pretty sharp. One thing I noticed that I haven’t seen too often is a brushed finish along the sides of the lugs (maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me)? Is this supposed to be the original finish?

Thanks,

Julian

I am not absolutely certain however in my opinion the brushed finish on the sides of the case is unlikely to be original.

I also don't think that the circular polishing pattern on the case back is original.

That said, if it has been polished then they have done quite a good job as it does not look unattractive.

I definitely found it strange myself. The circular pattern on the caseback is foreign to me but the serial number didn’t seem to be affected by the process. Either way, someone took care in what they did if it isn’t original.

For whatever it’s worth, here’s the caseback of my 10357-3 in rose gold. Also circular brushing on the caseback - and serial number is within 100 or so of the OP’s. Circumstantial evidence perhaps, but still...
(Sides do not have the same brushing as the OP’s).

Serial numbers on yours are a lot sharper. Thanks for the input though. Seems it could be possible.

Mine 10357-11 for reference

I asked for more photos of the face of the watch to get an idea of the polishing. It’s not terribly polished although I noticed some sort of tarnishing around the bezel/crystal area on the front. I’m assuming this can be easily buffed out by hand with some dish soap.

You can see the rest of the case (lugs) have had a little working over, so its likely the sides of the case have also.

I like the rustiness of the tarnish. Adds a kind of rich luster to the color.
If it were me I wouldnt put any water /dish soap anywhere near it but thats just me.

I thought tarnish was fairly superficial and could be removed easily. If it will cause problems then I’ll leave it be.
