Super rare chronometre Polerouter De Luxe in rose gold

Dial: Cream coloured dial with crosshair. “Chronometre” text in black on lower half of dial. Applied rose gold logo. Rose gold dauphine hands. Rose gold marker ring with radial markings as hour markers.

Case: 18k rose gold. Hallmarks on case and case back. Bombe lugs. Logo engraved inside case back in addition to the Head of Helvetia and the Key of Geneva showing that the case was made by Geneva based case maker Frédéric Baumgartner. Signed rose gold crown. 34mm case. 18mm lug width.

Movement: Universal Geneve self-winding Cal 215-9 microtor movement. The movement has a serial number as expected for a chronometre in addition to the text confirming that the movement had been adjusted in two positions (Dial up and crown down) and for temperature.

Condition/Notes: Serviced in March 2019. Case reference and serial numbers not present because the case back has been polished. The signed crown is a later replacement.

Price: £2,500 GBP including insured shipping worldwide for OF members. Payment via bank transfer or PayPal for known members or members with acceptable references. Returns not accepted unless grossly misrepresented.

Great watch and congrats to buyer and seller.

I wonder (maybe this isn’t the place) whether the case reference was indeed polished out or it was never there in the first place on a UG chronometre

I used to own a UG Polerouter chronometre, and that one didn’t have the reference numbers either. Also polished out? Maybe, but not very likely because the case had one marking (a T) that I would have expected to have gone as well in a polishing effort.
