Can some help me determine if this is a replica? The movement looks wrong, the date is sunk waydown below the watch face and the bezel looks funny.

Hi. I've read through a few threads on the forum, most of which have been useful and informative, but this one it seems to me, people are prepared to say something is a fake or a redial etc, without explaining why. Which is neither useful or informative.
regards in preparation for being shot down in flames.

You're right. Many of us take for granted how obvious the errors are, but this is a good suggestion!
Some people say we shouldn't clue the counterfeiters in by describing what's inaccurate, which might help them make an even more convincing fake, but all they need to do is look at the real watch they are faking to figure it out. If they have to keep adding more elements, that raises their production costs, and makes building fakes less lucrative. Win/Win!

This thread isn't meant to be educational, it's to notify others of a fake so that multiple reports can be made.
If you're not sure, don't post here but seek advice.

There are two other good threads that will help you to learn about what is fake and what isn't.

Totally new and figured the best bet was to start here. I purchased this in Germany circa 2003. Im guessing it is a fake given the amount I paid (several hundred). Any obvious indicators?
Thanks-
