Well I recommended to Ebay that all Omegas should be accompanied by a written authenticity document or not allow the listing. Let's see what Ebay will do.(probably ignore me).
Why stop at Omega?
Would you like to see Ebay insist on written documentation for every watch before they allow it to be listed?
If you're going to carry on with your pointless crusade against Ebay may I politely suggest you keep it to yourself because I'm sure that I'm not the only one here that is getting rather bored hearing about it.

I wouldn't start getting too worked up over these fakes. Realistically eBay can't be expected to police things in every category 24/7 and have the employee knowhow for what's real and what's not for everything. That's why the report button exists.

Believe it or not they also give brands a shortcut in getting things removed far more quickly than you or I could every hope to, so maybe you could get angry with Omega too?

Fakes are annoying certainly, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over them. Remember too that any buyer that does get stung has protection that's frankly far more weighted in the buyer's favour than any other marketplace I can think of.

Anyway back to the subject at hand

This ones back looks just like my fake one, reported.

Don't think it's fake. Terrible yes. Gmt hand probably had to go when the dial was ruined with thick diamonds.
Look at the Seamaster Font and the way chronometer is spelled. Chronometre. Plus T Swiss made T at bottom of the dial. Total fake.

Dial also bad. The one important clue is the weight. It weighs 214 grams. No way it's not solid gold. Regular GMT weighs roughly 150.

That would be the correct, french, spelling of the word. I've read (mondodec's blog I guess)
that Omega have used both "meter" and "metre" in the past.

I'm not saying the dial is not fake/redone, but the spelling of chronometer is no proof.

It is when they stopped spelling it that way around 1960. That was my point about the spelling.

I'd also agree real but butchered, the dial is clearly custom done as is the bezel likely by some pawn shop who didn't want to spend the money repairing a flogged out gold Seamaster and did this instead.

This is from a gold buying exchange. There is no way that they would get taken when it comes to buying a solid gold piece. They might buy fake watches, but they would quickly be out of business if they couldn't test for solid gold.

Ash, I agree the dial has definitely been redone or is fake and awful. Also, no shot of the hallmark if 18K. Did Omega even make the 50th anniversary GMT in solid gold? To me, the finish on the case looks to be poor quality or has been polished to death.

There are faint hallmarks on the bracelet clasp and one of the lugs.

OK. Maybe I'm wrong....but the dial definitely has been redone or is an after market fake.
