My two calibre 135s on their little display. 馃榾

Geodie - Those displays are a slippery slope. Warning! I have a similar one but with 6 posts and then felt the need to fill it. Then I bought a vintage Zenith watch case with 16 spaces and it looked unhappily empty, so I had to fill it. Then vintage strap cases and ... you get the idea ... My advice to all - buy posters not displays. ( Buying books (e.g.
R枚ssler) simply gives one a license to acquire every matching watch so one can lay it on top of its picture.)

And your two chronometre 135s are simply gorgeous. Kudos on them!

Today's grab ... EP Pacific 59.0100.400 (~1992). Zenith watches demonstrate so much creative license in style and design.

This one is weighty and comfortable, subtle in low light with the black dial and just the sub-dial edges glowing ghostly catching the light. And the (not really) Movado moon is dim.

But out in the light the 12-o'clock marker is revealed to be concave. And it captures a reflection of my bare Fall backyard trees. And the nicely balanced gold touches across the dial just explode.

What passes for a "dress" watch in my collection, for casual Friday.
Similar to page 184 in Rossler with a more angular lug/case transition.
Case serial 2xxExxx, early '70s (?)
2562pc movement, date at 6

I often miss not having a quick-set date on some of the collection that doesn't see wrist time. Either I have to wear them close to the date when they last ran down, or getting them ready to wear is like extracting my car from its icy parking spot - spin forward, spin backwards 馃榾

I am in the same boat as you. If it is only for a day or two, I don't generally bother with the date. If it is for longer than that, I sometimes wait until the date is close. I have several that are staggered at different days of the month, so I can wear one for a week or two and then switch to another, and then another. I use this approach for the ones that I wear a lot. I am reluctant to do the forward-back-forward process too much, as I have two failures occur while setting the date in this manner, on old watches.

I guess price, as is the usual issue. That and Zenith just doesn鈥檛 command the attention. Same with the Cal 122 chrono for sale here.

I think these Defy models have aged very well and still look modern.
I think it is reference A3690 Defy, Crown at 3
Turquoise or teal? (I'm an 8 Crayon-box color guy)

A Defy Gauss A7688 black dial. One of 550.
I think these originally might have worn a lobster plate bracelet.
This has a newer (logo) bracelet signed with black "paint" ... mostly gone.
Perhaps I'll renew it as I've seen they do for the engravings on the backs of Speedmasters.
Shmear and wipe, and hope 馃榾
