Ray Donovan famously has several watches on display on the first couple of seasons. Most prominently on season 2 he bribes a police officer with a Gold Daytona along a couple of other things. It’s notable because there’s a whole conversation around it.

His whole collection is seen several times during the seasons,

He himself wears a quartz omega seamaster( his own)

It looks like a planet ocean!

Enemy of the State. Will Smith's character's wife gives him an Omega, that is later replaced with a replica with a tracking device. Also, I think Gene Hackman wears a Speedmaster in this movie.

Has anyone here seen Ford vs. Ferrari? Great movie and pleasantly surprised on the actual focus of the story, the movie title is somewhat misleading.

It's released as Le Mans '66 elsewhere; presumably in the US they thought it would appeal to patriots if they drew it as Yankees Vs Iti's, or in case it sounds like a foreign film.

Reminds me of the possibly apocryphal story of the movie about the mentally unstable British monarch. Released as "The Madness Of George III", it was renamed Stateside to "The Madness of King George" in case moviegoers would be put off since they'd missed the first two films in the series...

It's hardly "prominent," but was there a Flightmaster in Deerhunter? At roughly 1:18, the VC standing behind Stevie in the Russian Roulette hut with 2 watches on his arm.

Not a movie, but I just spotted a Seamaster (not sure which one) prominently shown in a TV show. In season 6, episode 3 of the show "Psych", the main character, Shawn Spencer, is wearing it.

Lots of watch flashes from Matt Damon ('Carroll Shelby') in "Ford vs Ferrari". Heuer?

Yeah. Carrera 7753, earliest example of that reference is late 1969, like the one I am wearing today. Except mine is black/white panda and the film one is white/black.

I have read suggestions that if you know anything about motor racing you should stay at home and watch Steve McQeen's "Le Mans" on DVD instead 🙁

It seems that Bale's character is wearing a Heuer Autavia in the scene where he is in the Paris hotel during his arrival for the Le Mans race and Damon, if not mistaken, is wearing a hamilton chronomatic panda, but a modern version (case looks large). Correct me if I'm wrong

Today I’m off to see Ford vs Ferrari, or Le Mans 1966, whatever it’s called where you are, to get me a fix of Heuers. Apparently most of them are anachronisms, but they look cool 😎

Yeah, it wasn't a great movie if you wanted good driving/ racing footage. But this was a 'go to an early afternoon movie with the wife and 6-year-old' movie. A few years back my wife read the book that was supposedly the basis for this movie; she said the book delved much deeper into Ferrari's operations and drivers, and covered Mercedes a bit (and their tragedy in the early '60s) as well. F v F was somewhat entertaining, and had just enough car stuff in it to keep me interested. It was mainly just about Shelby and Ken Miles though.

You’ve hit the nail on the head - I’m going to an early afternoon screening with my wife (but no 6yo thankfully)

We just saw Knives Out. Daniel Craig played Detective Blanc. He was not wearing a Bond Omega, but the watch he was wearing looked much like a vintage Seamaster on a strap. There were watches featured in the film. I wouldn’t know a Smart Watch from a Garmin, or any other watch of that ilk. But most of the watches I spied that were actually shown prominently on the screen were of that sort. Good movie. Christopher Plummer aced his role.

It’s a fairly good representation of what happened. They changed some small things but nothing that changes the main story. Iacocca was not in the meeting with Enzo but HF II was... never mentioned Miles co driver... Plays down Holman Moody contributions. But the core of the story is true and fascinating.

Just watched Le Mans 1966, enjoyed the movie - and while the watches are cool the real eye-candy is the cars. There are some seriously beautiful motors in this movie; which is as much about the politics as it is racing.

modern shiny Omega Seamasters in The Odyssey ...
A great movie about the life of Jacques Cousteau...sadly IMHO Seamaster watches evolved from black dial toolwatches to waved dial glitterballs 🙁

Two watches figure in the action in Two For The Road (1967) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062407/

The first is on the wrist of Howard who is an efficiency consultant and times lunch to the minute (in France!).

The second is in an argument between Joanna and Mark in which she throws her "enamel sports watch" at him and he waves it at her until the argument is over.

I reckon Breitling Navitimer for the first and Rolex GMT-Master for the second, both well chosen for the characters.

Let's not confuse watch with time. There are many great sci-fi movies that involve the concept of "time"

I hope I'm not confusing this one featuring an Elgin pocket-watch (2 minutes into this clip) which the protagonist uses to confirm the working of his remarkable (and quite unique) chronometer.
