I’m very worried ... the dial is in perfect condition, and the mechanism is scratched. I would like to know the opinion of the specialists.

 

Dial has been refinished.

 

Case also looks to be polished down quite a bit. Doesn't retain the look it's supposed to have.

 

Apart from the dial, the condition of this 65 year old bumper is consistent with what you’d expect from a well used but cared for watch - that’s had a bit of cosmetic surgery at some stage.

and one more question. How well did the dial? I understand that the photos are not the best.

 

Unless the seller told you that it was an original unrefurbished dial, then I think you’re stuck with it. If he told you it was unrefurbished/unrefinished you might think about returning it and getting a refund.

Bear in mind that this is a steel cased watch, probably bought to be worn regularly and not a gold watch kept carefully and only brought out on special occasions.

If the dial of a regularly worn watch was damaged, it was often repaired or replaced without any great concern for original condition, in much the same way that if your car is damaged you get it repaired.

 

In my estimation, about US $200-300. Others may have a different view.

This is a regulator for a caliber 351.

 

If value is what you'd get if put on open auction on ebay, for sure a bit more than $300.
