·Hi everyone, very glad joined the forum and studied a lot about vintage watches here. Great forum, Great people here!
As a newbie,I just happen to find two Omega vintage watches very interesting and willing to purchase one of them. Found both watches from the same dealer. There are a few reasons why these two watches caught my eyeballs, they are both in solid gold, jumbo size, arabic numerials, vintage of course. I will post some photos of two watches, and please do excuse for the low resalution of the photos!
Watch 1:
Watch 2
Here are my questions, and hopefully can learn a bit more about the watches with your comments.
1. Are these two watches genuine, since rarely see dials with all 12 arabic numerals?
2. Are there any not genuine parts in these two watches, hands, dials, crown etc? I assume the watch 1 crown isn’t orginal? Watch 2 is very intresting since its got Arabic numerals over the printed minute marks.
3. Since these two watches are so in good conditions, and that triggered my alarms after a bit study in this forum. The dealer says the watches are "Revised and polished", I assume the dials are all restored, redialed? Are there any harms to the watch apart to decrease the value, say making the dial more easily oxidized?
I am fine with polishing, and I know it might be over polished to make it shining as a brand new watch.
4. For watch 1, the dealer says the caliber is 30.10RA, but there isnt any photo. The watch 2 doesnt say the caliber model, but with a photo of the inside.
5. Are both watches the types that can only be opened from the front? are there particular reasons why, or any notice should be made when wearing or service?
6. Finally, these two watches are priced around 1000 euros, any suggestion on the price?
Thanks for ur patience of reading, and I am appreciated if anyone is kind enough to leave any comments. As a newbie, do excuse for my ignorance~~ Cheers
