Few years ago I sold my decent polerouter and totally regret about it. My regret lead me to take a long journey.

Recently I bought two polerouters as part watches. (black date is $750, gold is $350.) I think about restoring them by collecting parts in need.

Apparently both has worst dials so needs dial parts or re-dial in the future. However, I’m not sure if their hands are original. I’d like to hear your opinion on them and critique on my (impulsive) purchase.

I wonder if the black ink of the marker the seller used is indelible 😀::facepalm1::

If you are a pro (meaning a repair guy, or a dealer who sees lots of watches and parts passing trough his hands), why not. But if you aren't, I fear you sunk 1k into a money pit.

It is almost always a better idea to buy a "good" watch from the start, even if it seem more costly.

I completely agree. I’d, also, rather wait and pay more to get a good example.

The problem is that finding replacement dials will be difficult.

You see lots of wrecked dials/redials with decent cases but very few watches with great dials but poor cases.

And in my opinion, redialling a redial does not seem a sensible way to go. Although you couldn't make these dials any worse, you'd still be left with redials that would be of little value to collectors.
