Got hooked on that patina... I see a non original bracelet – something else you could point please? What are your thoughts on this speedy?

Omega archive states it is March 1973. No movement photos yet available (the watch is at the safe), but seller promised that the movement is perfect and the watch was serviced and comes with 1 year warranty.

Price is high, but I haven't seen an examples like that for a long time already...

    Thanks!

Looks like a relume with faux vintage coloration. Hold for the experts.

Straight writing caseback isn't correct for 1973, unless it took a hellova long time to be delivered.

Does look relumed, but it's not terrible. Hands are a little matchy-matchy though. Still, it's easily rectified.

Beautiful bezel, but it appears this is the rare "Dot At 73" (DA73) which doesn't exist. I'm curious as to what that is.

It's a little polished down, so between that and the relume I don't know that I'd pay on the high end for this. Considering the bracelet (which is still a genuine 1171) the sweet spot is somewhere between $4000 - 4500

We’ve seen a couple of full sets on here, towards the end of the range for movement numbers stated in MWO, that were sold that late. I think I recall seeing one sold as late as ‘75.

Seems odd as they were only made in the start of '71 but I suppose I've seen stranger.

It looks to be a relume and I think it might be polished as well? Edges doesn't look sharp.

The relume looks a little ridiculous IMO. Case looks like it was overpolished and then tried to restore. Looks very prepped if you ask me.

on seeing the first picture my immediate thought was that the lume wasn't original. Right there it shouldn't be a top priced example.

    Yes, stranger things have happened.

There’s actually quite a large serial number range for these, documented in MWO. I have a late 32M myself, but this one is the example at the top of the MWO range, sold in 73.

I’ve seen the papers and the crater box... remarkable example.

Agree with all here - don’t like the lume on this one.

Yup. Relumed. Not that I've seen every speedy, but I've not seen -69's that age to that colour.

73 should be ok for a straight text. I have one from around then too. Wish the extract would confirm subreference / date stamp.

    As the folks say.

    My $0.02 :
    - putting my money on it being a relume, but well executed. The color should be more cream and less pumpkin (based on observation) -> Hong-Kong-Patina? Look at the dots at 12 o'clock...very good. Seems to be some lume off the white markers throughout though...only visible at such a good resolution.
    - bracelet could very well be original for a 73 methinks.
    - Caseback ... ???

I was thinking it is just some generic 1171 because Speedmaster writing is missing...

Yep, square logo 1171 is more modern. Not sure when the changeover occurred, but definitely after the early '70s.
