After 3 weeks of lockdown here in NYC, I’ve forgotten what a weekend is 🙁

We started about a week before you guys here in the Bay Area. At this point I've forgotten what normal life is like.

On the plus side, it's revealed a new utility for the previously-reviled day-date feature!

It has been mostly garden work for me trying to make my garden as “wild” and insect friendly as possible. Today I am going with the family to the royal palace to see the Royal Life Guards. I was in The Guards almost 13 years ago and now my nephew is and has his first guard duty at the royal palace today.

So we have made a sign that says “Guard of the Month” and we will wave it around hopefully making him a bit embarressed with his crazy family 😁

After that I probably will be back in the garden, playing with the kids, drinking a beer (have some great locally made IPA at the moment) and later I have to work a bit 🙁

Got the lawns mowed 2 minutes before it started raining today, so just a few bird boxes to put up tomorrow.

Yesterday was the semi-annual rearranging of the garage. Put the snow blower away and get the rider and push mowers moved to where we can get at them for the summer. Borrowed a roller from a neighbor to roll the lawn, and had to grease the riding mower first...of course, ran out of grease...so opened up the grease gun, grabbed the empty cartridge, and it would not budge...stuck in the tube like it was glued in.

Hooked the roller up and my wife rolled the lawn while I tried to get this stupid empty cartridge out of the grease gun...

After fruitless attempts to use various pliers and vice grips to pull the old cartridge out (it was a plastic one rather than cardboard, which made it impossible to collapse inside the tube to get it out), I decided to get out the hair dryer. Sure enough, 5 minutes heating the outside of the tube, and the old cartridge slid right out. Oddly satisfying...but these days getting out of bed seems like an accomplishment.

After reviewing a couple books as digital .pdf, re-reviewing those books as a real paper book and still finding errors & typos...
I really need a paper book in my hands ! 📖
.

A tip given to me is to have a text-to-speech program read the PDF to you without looking at the screen. Typos, missing or doubled words really stand out. Another check is to read it backwards.

Congratulations on getting it into print 👍

Somebody once told me to blow on the opposite end with a little canned air.

Thanks for Your comments... in fact the book will be published by the main author, Colin White, who did an incredible job by researching all kinds of vintage Rolex watches (tool & dress watches) for his first publication the VRFG - Vintage Rolex Field Guide
In fact, this book was printed without revealing the author's name & some feedback mentioned there were missing info bits in the tables of this book and some readers wanted a hardcover version, so the book became " The Chevalier Edition " VRFM - Vintage Rolex Field Manual
Before the Forum Admins might see this as advertising, I just wrote a 10 pages contribution about aviation & spaceflight on a 100% unpaid/voluntary basis and just wanted to point out the book as it has interesting background stories on adventurers, sportsmen & women, aviation & spaceflight...
