My Planet Ocean 45.5mm turns 20 years old this year, I’ve owned it from new… did many request their Chronometer Certificate back in the day?

Still have mine….and my watch has never been opened or serviced either …loses a few seconds a day only and has been on many travels and not pampered.

It was originally on an Alligator strap and clasp but sold those long ago.. had it on the rubber as well but has been on the mesh for over ten years now.

I even have the original receipt and got a decent discount as it was ex-display.

it’s a classic …how many of you bought a Planet Ocean when they came out and still have it?

So glad you like the 45.5 - what man doesn't, at least secretly? And when the only touch of orange is the tip of the sweep seconds, now that's subtle. Mine - also 2006 - says hello. Even if the world starts to call it neo-vintage, I'm keeping it.

Nice. But 20 years without a service—even if it’s keeping great time, you might want to celebrate the milestone by sending it out for one. I’m guessing the oils have dried out and the gaskets are in rough shape. I’d be worried about water resistance. Unless you’ve been getting it pressure tested every year or two?

I agree, I will do, bit of an experiment in testing George Daniel’s theory.
