Are Tesla Model 3, X and S with AP part of this discussion?

馃檮

No - AP does not mean Audemars...

I didn't say you were up in arms.

I didn't say you were trolling, or using up valuable kilobytes or limited resources.

Continuing to mischaracterize my posts as something they are not I do find frustrating, so I would appreciate it if you would stop.

As I've already said, having a different viewpoint is just fine, but if others don't agree, they will push back against suggestions like yours.

If you find a post that you believe should be removed, there is already a process for that. Click on "options" and then "report post" and tell the mods why you believe it is inappropriate. If they agree, they will take the appropriate action.

Sorry, the troll comment was another commenter that said they were looking for the troll emoji.

I appreciate the sentiment - I'm aware of my tone and how I'm approaching the topic can be abrasive - perhaps I need a vacation (fortunately I have one coming up and still haven't decided which watches to take!).

I'm not going to go back and direct-quote all my responses I'll just leave it at this:
What I think everyone is missing is there's a difference between pics of themselves being stupid, and pics where their stupidity is endangering others. That's not a question of morality.

What I'm gathering is this community would prefer to allow the post to occur, and we'll either publicly shame, or generally ignore. I see nothing wrong with larryganz's post - yeah it looked like he was driving but he also used text to clarify "I was parked" - so? move on. In the rare case we see a highway photo with speedometer visible then we handle accordingly:

When I posted that photo in the WRUW on Monday, I had no clarification about the circumstances in which I took it. nobody complained.

I didn't think about it again until I saw this thread pop up to the top of the list yesterday, and then I posted it again.

I've never taken a photo of whichever watch I'm wearing while driving my car, but will I be vilified here if I do so while riding my Harley?

Straight road, cruise control engaged, no on-coming traffic, left hand raised in front of the fairing, right hand with iPhone...click!

Sometimes the glare off the crystal blinds oncoming traffic. I am at a stop light.

@Unfamiliar_Moon welcome to the forum.

I don鈥檛 think OP鈥檚 proposal to discuss 芦 removal 禄 is ridiculous either, I had never paid much attention to those shots and they are clearly dangerous when a car is on the road and the driver is taking the picture himself.

When saving life and limb is at stake I wouldn鈥檛 call the OP鈥檚 contribution a 芦negative 禄 but a very positive one. I wouldn鈥檛 dismiss sensitivities in this respect, considering people get killed or injured by cars whose driver play with their phone.

As for rules, and I apologize in advance for being a bore......
some people often think they are a nuisance when they apply to them (and I don鈥檛 want to get into a political discussion here) but the reasons we can sit here and discuss watches is because we live in safe countries with rules preventing people from being shot in the streets, protecting businesses from malfeasance, and in most cases allowing us to pay for needed medical care. People who don鈥檛 enjoy the benefit of rules are not on watch forums.

That being said, probably we need a few zones of freedom in our rules based- world and a community can handle questions like this one without a rule.

But I think it鈥檚 a very worthy subject of discussion and awareness.

[I am at a stop light.

One of the kids at the school my buddy works at was hit by a car last year. Some woman decided to take a selfie at the stop light and when the light turned green she dropped her phone trying to put it down and boom.

Guess she wasn't so #blessed that day. I can't imagine what it must feel like to be responsible for the loss of a life. Here's hoping the family of the deceased finds their peace and that the woman who exercised a lapse in judgement finds hers as well.

This is why I approached this thread carefully. It really is a serious concern, but I'm very VERY protective of individual freedom and don't believe in censorship. Nor do I believe that saying nothing is complicit or somehow an endorsement of a harmful activity.

I just don't need to focus my efforts on becoming world police. Life is too short anyhow

Drove home behind this Hearst the other day. It's shaky because I was trying to drive and take the picture at the same time, very unsafe.
