I've been playing for 10 years. Play an average 3-4 times a week and do tournaments. Gave up golf and never looked back.

Well, I play pickleball and golf, while wearing my Speedmaster. Take that. 😝

Do you hit the trifecta by wearing it while cutting your grass, too? If so you are a true bon vivant!

I have enough challenges staying out of the orthopedists office. My wife and I will not risk sailing season for a game keeping Orthopods in Bentleys. We’ve seen too many neighbors in casts.

Look old enough to me.

Even if I do end up looking like that, I'll probably still be playing tennis. 😉

OP, you might like to consume this thread. Last summer I committed to playing tennis and padel* and pickleball# to try to get inside the spirit of those games for "research" purposes. I was not (although tried to be) unbiased, and I came away with some fairly clear conclusions. I just didn't want to annoy anyone with them, because I think it's just important that people do what they love and vice-versa. In my own case, one of these games helped rehabilitate me out of a dark place after some lengthy injuries, so I will always be on the side of people who just want to get out and play at any age.

*North Americans: this is a game played in Europe with tennis balls inside mesh cages and sheets of glass.

#Europeans: this is a transatlantic game played with small, hard, noisy balls that can swiftly re-purpose an unguarded tennis court.

I was at a bday party for my 5 year old over the summer, where one of the mommies enthusiastically proclaimed she was pickling. Not only that, she had brought her pickle "kit".

We headed down to the tennis courts where, luckily, nobody was playing tennis that day. No net, so we improvised with the half tennis court.

As an avid tennis player, I was keeping my perspective neutral. My thoughts? Boring. Just too boring.

The paddles lack any control and the constant "ping ping ping" without any real movement was juat too much. So, I probably broke a few rules. Started overhand serving, rushing the net, and all sorts of "tennis-y" things.

I can see how it might appeal to those who never really played tennis or can't do more intense sports. I get that and more power to those folks.

But for me, it's a first and last time. Pretty sure that mommy isn't going to ever ask me again.
