Watch looks good to me. As always, it is very difficult to assess these dials without having it hand and using a loupe.

Currently finding myself in the emergency room after spilling boiling tea onto my crotch, though at least I was wearing a nice watch whilst doing it...

Funnily enough this one actually fails MOY. Still correct though.

Still think MOY test is OK...

Anyone?

the line edges of the pan still in sharp steps or corners, so the dial looks fine to me too.

Congratulations! Nice and original dial with black onyx inserts, too. Enjoy the watch.

I don't think this example actually fits your category for them being paralel though, at hours 5-6 for instance they're not what you've described.

Now that I have looked at it several times, I have to say that you are right, that is a bad example. Presumably, it is too optimistic to assume that omega could pull the minute lines to the very edge 😵‍💫

Meely, you've got enough shoulders to lean on now. Enjoy your Connie and show us some pictures of it post-service! I think it will look clearer when crystal is buffed a bit.

Enjoy and feel better on the... um... mishap. 👍

I have, and again thanks all for the input, I'd have ended up with a franken redial without the forum. I picked up a NOS crystal just in case too, so it should be crystal clear - excuse the pun - when it comes back. Mishap dealt with, been sent home with bandages and ointment, I won't be sending pics of that post-service fortunately.

No pictures of the ointment application either!

Different reference, different dial details even though it's a piepan.

To me, the minute markers don't either look paralell, nor the go up to the edge. Maybe it only seems like this, because they look a litte bit washed out.

For this reference, I believe that they don't reach the edge of the piepan. In fact, they appear to be in a small arc almost. I believe only the black hour ink-marks should touch the hour markers.

It is just OP's scratched crystal that makes the font look shoddy. With a new crystal, I bet it will look amazing. OP, your case should be stamped 167.005 with a cal 551 inside. Just to double check, in case you forgot to vet it internally.

Simply Gorgeous!! Very well done. It's funny how the dial looks champagne in some light and silver in other light. That case is in very good shape.

Is there a story behind how you came across it?
