🙁
Enough sour grapes, Gavin. Next you're going to be questioning my Evil Clapton.

It'll catch on if you start putting it up on instagram and calling it at nyc gtgs.
I only lament the fact that I can't go deeper into ug after some baby steps.🙁

Are you kidding? It has caught on! 'Evil Clapton' is the most compelling watch name to come along in years. Who doesn't want an Evil Clapton?👍

"Evil Clapton" sounds so, um... Evil. Let's see how those results from this week-end will also affect the "Friendly Claptons" 😀 (and the evil ones of course)

Sadly, this is the only Evil Clapton I have (on compact disc):

Ok, I was wrong, different split seconds.
First one from auctionata
Second from Mr. A. B

Still should have bought the 1st one tho.....

LarryG,

you are right, the Record Flyback was one of the few "reasonable priced" watches at Phillip auction.
Unfortunately even this one is out of range and I missed the Auctionata bargain here in Germany🙁.
Missing a Flyback in my small collection, but already have a nice Record (Venus 175) with beautiful dial.

Nina has now obtained a Phd in astronomy..."complicated Nina"? (even though she has not been spotted wearing one..yet)

This truly isn't a shameless plug - but I'll be listing one of my "Evil Claptons" tomorrow. Should provide an interesting reference point for real world, non-dealer prices vs. auction prices.

And this wasn't a hasty decision to piggy-back on Phillips - I've known for a while that I'd have to sell one of my two inverse pandas and looking at the auction calendar, I figured it wouldn't hurt to wait until Phillips played itself out.

That's fair enough. Will you list here and on Ebay?

Well, I deliberated on this point for a while...let me know what you guys think. I posted the WTT post on here a couple months ago and even though it said I would only consider a trade for a narrow range of brand/references, I was flooded with 20+ inquiries about a straight cash sale. Given the immense outreach for something that wasn't even a FS post, I think the fairest/best way to handle it is placing it on Chronotrader for a week and just saying the highest offer takes it. I'd list it here in OF, but I know it's frowned upon (/ possibly against the FS rules?) to list it without a price and open it up to bids. eBay is out of the question for me because it's not necessary to sell it and the fees would be a drag.

Thoughts?

I ended up finding a Compax a few weeks ago (one of the watches on my trade list), so I'll be selling this one straightaway. Appreciate the heads up though.

As far as that panda Tri goes - wish the lume plots were in better shape, but other than that (and after putting the case through an ultrasonic cleaner) it's a pretty nice one.

The price would be appropriate if the phrase "Evil Clapton" appeared in the description.

Isn't the "Evil Clapton" white on black? I believe this is the "Indifferent Clapton" or "Neutral Clapton" - white on grey dial.

The box pictured in the advert looks too early?

That's your issue with the listing?😵‍💫😜

And what happened to the "tri compax" lettering above the hour subdial...

This is the Exotic Clapton. Then there's normal Clapton (white on black) and Inverse Clapton (black on white).

Everyone here knows that if this becomes the actual marketing schtick, it started here. We should get a commission from anyone that uses it.

"Normal" and "Inverse" are technical terms. "Evil Clapton" is marketing $chtick.
