I just can’t relate to the PP Naughty, there are other PPs that l much prefer.
I get the quality of the workmanship, and I get that it’s a magnificent piece of engineering………but no way known am I gonna front up the amount of fun tickets required to buy one for something that looks like a particularly ugly ‘70s Seiko!
Don’t get me wrong Seiko makes fine watches, I have several, and I realise that beauty is in the eye of the beer holder (beer was invented so ugly people can get sex…… it’s been a great help to me over the years! The secret is not to be the beer holder, otherwise you might have to chew your own arm off in the morning, if it’s trapped under your “conquest” of the night before! )
I have a mate who absolutely loves ugly ‘70s watches, so I send any that I encounter his way.

I tip my hat to all the guys here that had one before the instagram influencers jumped on the bandwagon and pumped them up to quadruple the price

I find the likes of instagram effluences so bloody tedious, I’d be inclined to do the opposite of anything they say

I always find it funny seeing a young kid (23yo) who still lives at home and has set his shelf in his bedroom up with a few watch books, doing a YouTube video on a $40k watch…. Usually the exact same content of 3 other YouTubers that have never seen the watch in person. (They usually know enough about computers to flash the pictures up as they speak so it looks all polished)

While @chunkythebulldog above, is sitting at a pub drinking a beer with 3 other mates wearing one posting the pictures of the beers his drinking on instagram. 😁😁

Except for (shameless) bragging rights the hype around that watch is not deserved at all…
Bad design copy of Royal Oak, wrong movement…

But the date window upsets the aesthetics

Yes, thank you! The number of watches that I’d find attractive had it not been for the date window…
Subs, while I’m really not a fan of the image, can at least be had without one.

I've only really just started getting into watches a few years ago. Naturally, I see there's a lot of articles and videos on the internet about the Nautilus and the Royal Oak. I'm really curious as to why there's so much hype surrounding them. Are they really that good? I've not had the opportunity to examine one in the metal so I can't give informed comment. It seems that one of the common features about these watches is that they were designed by Gerald Genta. I'll have to do more research about him and his work, but I'm guessing he's pretty venerated in the watch world and that contributes to the hype? Thankfully, these watches don't really float my boat so I'm not going to be breaking the bank to get my hands on one.

Hmmm...let me give your question some thought, M'Bob. And while you wait, please enjoy this visual interlude...

+1. Nope, nope, nope. For beautiful designs, it's hard to beat a 1950s-early 1960's pie pan Constellation or most JLCs.
