That’s why there are as many watches as people’s taste. There is nothing wrong in that. Difference between hideous and beautiful lies in the eyes only….

Cubitus is the name of a french funny cartoon, in the 80's, a big white flegmatic dog, kind of Snoopy. Cannot think something else when reading that model name. Hopefully I cannot afford it 😁

Not for me, but not ugly. I think at this price point we all expect something amazing.

At 45mm it is way too big.

At 35mm, it would make a great woman's model..

Given that photos can sometimes mask certain attributes of watches, I would like to see it in the metal.

But from the photos, the main issue for me is that the new bezel shape is inconsistent with the rest of the watch. The Nautilus was coherent in having a rounded bezel, rounded surface as the case moved away from the face, and rounded middle links in the bracelet. Together, they made sense. The changes made to create the Cubitus seem forced.

It's a bizzare own-goal. The Nautilus has much better aesthetics, balance, history... and they replace it with a an uglier, huge, squared-off version for no particuar reason. Then again, I hate the humungous bezel on both: a vast expanse of blank coarsely-brushed metal designed to show off every single dent and scratch - and what kind of "sports watch" is water resistant to 30m? 😂

Not a replacement of Nautilus. Those are still in production. This is a new line of square sport watches.

Zuck seems to like it.

You could have literally any watch in the world. And you choose that, or someone chose it, or worse, Patek might have given it to him

I saw something similar to this on IG a few days ago and it did feel rather fitting

Ah yes, Zuckerberg - that great arbiter of taste 😀

And if we're being pedantic fine, the 5711 is no longer in production, and this forearm monstrosity is the replacement. The aesthetically-challenged 5726 is available for ~90k USD, or the actually-okay-because-it-has-the-proper-3-hand-dial 5811 in white gold is available for a paltry ~150k USD

When marketing dictates the design...this watch tries too hard to be different and ends up looking like a Cartier

As opposed to the Nautilus which looks like one of the less tasteful efforts of Seiko in the 70's.....going by that if their new design looks more like a Cartier design, then I s'pose it's a move forward 🤣

Do I like the cubitus? No. Will it sell? Hell yeah!
The 5711 is a charming watch. This instead looks like a render pic. from a random IT guy a week before watches and wonders.
I do not care for PP. Not any more. I am not holly enough to get one anyway.

Wouldnt pay for it, but would wear it lol
...and it could easily fund the purchase of several nicer watches.
