·With a big shout-out to @dsio (Ash), and his Modern Omega eBay scouting thread, here is my new-to-me 2016 Rio Olympics limited edition Seamaster diver, fresh from the eBay authenticator. (I think that with this piece joining my limited-edition-of-61-pieces Aqua Terra, I may well now have the most random collection of LE Seamasters on the forum---consider that a challenge.)
As was pictured in the ad, the bracelet is pretty beat up---it's kind of gross actually---but perfectly functional, and since I plan to use this as a beater (so to speak) having it pre-scratched and cruddy gives me license not to stress about every new scuff it picks up. At some point I'll probably send it in for service and have Omega refinish it.
Initial impression is that it's pretty awesome. You have to like skeleton hands and wave dials, so it's definitely niche, but I'm really digging the splash of color on the ceramic bezel---super fun. And the lumed bezel is so freakin' cool on this thing. Also, whereas the 42mm 300m diver I had a while back was a touch too big for my 6.75" wrist, this one, at 41mm, feels spot on.
We'll see how things settle post-honeymoon. Just wanted to share!
