·Hello Gents - Thank you for accepting me to the forum.
I have questions regarding a new-to-me Seamaster 'Baby Flightmaster' 166.090 with the cal 1002. Primarily, as you can see from the photos, I don't believe the case screw and clamp are the originals. Based on photos of other movements I see keyhole shaped clamps, and original screws don't appear to corrode quite like this. Normally not too much of a problem, but I'd like to know the correct part numbers if anyone can point me in the right direction. There doesn't appear to be very much information online about these models. Fortunately everything else looks original, although it's seen better days.
Which brings me to another question; It clearly needs a clean and service, but how far should one go with that? Keep the original parts with flaked off paint, or replace/restore? I'm sure this is probably a matter of personal preference, but is there an over-riding consensus?
My appreciation in advance.
Based on most forums, I'm assuming it's required to post photos of the newbie's subject.
