Hello all,

I have recently been offered this oysterquartz for what seems like a fantastic price. Its very mint, and running perfectly. No box etc, but the owner has had it for 26 years.

What are these going for these days? im finding $5000 plus on line.

Would love to know your thoughts
thanks everyone.

Is it all coming from the same shop as that beautiful 14K gold seamaster you resold after someone begged you? 😁

I've owned a 17000 in blue. These are nice watches.

This one looks like it has been clearly polished in the past.
Probably more than once, judging by the sides of the case.

But the price is more than fine. I think I've sold mine in 2019 for 3500,- euro?

By the way: servicing these watches can be very expensive (if a new battery doesn't really fix it).
I've seen Rolex repairs way over 1.000,- euro, especially if the movement needs to be replaced.

Is there any service history known?

Looking for the front at first, i really could not decide if it had been polished or not, but i think you are correct.

LOL,
No, i have become quite good at internet scanning etc. Most of what i find comes from friend connections.
The 14k gold connie was an anomaly, i got it from a shop that paid next to nothing for it, hence the price. that was all luck finding that one.

These are the noisiest quartz watches ever, since quartz watches arrived in the market place about 50 years ago. It’ll drive you nuts if you have sensitive hearing, like the original owner might have. Hence his not having worn it.

It’s a very fair price, as most things have they have increased quite a lot in the last 2 years. If you intend to wear it on rotation or as a daily wearer it’s a good buy. If you intend to buy and then push within 12 months you might make a few dollars but nothing more. It does look quite nice in the pictures, polished yes with macro photography quite unforgiving. I think it would look great on your wrist and if you’ve been after one and not bothered by it not being a complete set go for it.
On a separate issue would love to know how it compares over a month to a Seiko GQ on time keeping.
Good luck with your decision and thanks for telling the price, some times people are a little reserved and unwillingly to do so but we had to have a complete picture. I suppose the 2nd post tells it all. I’d buy it for that price.
Regards
Jon
