路For sale comes a superb oversized chronograph from the 1950s made by Marvin, Bienne (CH).
So what do we have here? A very seldom seen chronograph, powered by a Valjoux 22 movement, in a 38mm stainless steel case (w/o crown).
The dial has some marks and scratches.
Yep, it's an almost 70 years old watch that had a life.
Hands and gilt numerals shine depending on the light.
That case is great. It's been worn, including by myself, so there are some very light traces of wear but no dings or heavy scratches.
The caseback is also in a great condition, with some signs of wear - correct reference engraved inside.
The movement is the reason why I bought this watch. The decorated Valjoux 22 is a stunner. Look at this :
Although it runs perfectly and keeps good time, its service history is unknown to me. Please note that it's a vintage watch and its water resistance was not tested and is not guaranteed. The buyer has to be aware of that and wear the watch with that in mind.
Finally, the watch comes on a noname vintage leather strap with an original Marvin stainless steel buckle.
Together with the watch comes a genuine Marvin box. The leather on hinges is dry and somehow damaged but the hinges open and close firmly.
