Having never bought a watch from overseas, I am wondering what people's experiences are - the seller is in Japan and is a dealer, I am in the UK and wondering whether a) this is a safe transaction, b) what are the implications of customs, excise - VAT, import duties, other costs and charges that I am likely to incur on purchasing the watch...also any issues with warranty - it is an Omega and a new watch.

    a) as is always repeated around here: buy the Seller first; payments by credit card are considered the most safe option, b) be prepared to pay customs, this is dependent of the assessed value of the watch, c) if the Seller is an Omega authorized dealer and the warranty card is included, then the watch will be covered under Omega's warranty.
