I've got a stupidly wild hair up my tookis and am considering the possibility (and debt) of getting either the chronograph, three hander or dual time.

Love to hear some thoughts/opinions/insights from folks who have/have had one of the Overseas.

Haven’t had an Overseas but have had a Traditionelle. By a huge margin the nicest watch I’ve ever held or beheld in person. The quality is incredible and holds up under extreme magnification. A Lange might be the only maker doing better these days.

That said, if you’re considering paying full retail I’d seriously urge against it. VCs do not fare well on the preowned market. When I moved on from mine it was a 40% hit. Overseas might do a little better but I kinda doubt it.

From what I gather reading reviews they wear bigger than their size.

Excellent intell, thank you!

Yeah, for the Overseas line I am seeing the three hander going for over MSRP (because it's super popular, the most affordable and has a wait time) whereas the chronograph and Dual Time seem to trend under retail on the secondary market.

Picked up a VC American 1921 last year on the secondary market. Definitely concur it's one of the nicest watches I own by far. The fit and finish is amazing, plus the hand finished movement is a work of art.

As for the Overseas, haven't seen one in person but from everything I've seen on them, quality pieces can't go wrong with. The secondary market is your friend.

Good luck on your search.

I know you tend towards chronos, so this may be a useless addition to the thread, but the Overseas blue (4520V) is just magnifique. Utterly beautiful dial.

Chrono Overseas are very nice. Sadly, I’m allergic to 4:30 date window. Today, I’d trade a few things for this:

But it doesn't even have a seconds hand. 😉

Overseas are beautiful watches. Comfortable bracelets, good size, stunning finishing (thinking about having to polish the Maltese Cross motif on the bracelet makes my hands cramp). There is no reason to take on debt for jewelry though. Be sensible!
