OUTSTANDING customer service

I wanted to share a request that I made to Omega and their response. I am 100% shocked at how this turned out.

I bought a Speedmaster in the jumbo NASA box. The box is noting short of insane. If I would take that with me in a carryon, there would be no room for anything else. I wear a proper dress watch with a suit, but most of the time I'm in scrubs with my speedmaster. I called Omega and asked how I could get a travel case. The woman on the phone told me to visit an AD and they would help me out. The closest AD is over an hour away.

I created an account on the Omega website and submitted my request on the customer service link. I got a really nice email acknowledging my request. Then another email with an approval!

Today FedEx showed up with a box containing a red (eyeglass case sized) travel watch case. No charge, just a note thanking me for for my inquiry.

Tell me one other company on the planet that would do this?! I am shocked (and really happy by the way).

Amazing. It's the unexpected things that make an impact.

Yup I got a few. You also get them if you send a watch in for service.

Handy things they are.

When my Grand Seiko SBGX115 white dial diver came back from service in January, it came back in the same small blue cardboard box that my SKX007 and SKX173 came in when I bought them new.

Omega service case (and CS) shows a lot more class.

EDIT - you don't think GS sent me a nicer box and AD took it and swapped it out do you?

@larryganz I don’t think the AD swapped. As you know, Seiko packaging really lacks in comparison to others. I can only imagine their service boxes are just as bad.

I just expected better from Grand Seiko on a $4100 MSRP watch. Cardboard - Meh!

I'm guessing the Omega cases are not much money in reality...they give away tens of thousands of them a year. The one I received back with my GO was a bit nicer than the Omega style:

Watch just for the heck of it...

Was gonna say, these red Omega cases feel like they are worth about $1.50. Just got one last month when I picked up my Seamaster Ti chrono from service. I didn't even think about it at the time but I should have asked them to throw me another one or two, I'm sure they would have. Now that this comes up, I think I'll stop back in there soon and just ask them for an extra, I'll be surprised if they won't give me one. I'll use the same "my-giant-Moonwatch-box-does-not-travel" complaint if need be LOL

Several watch companies do this. IWC gave me a great case at the store just out of a chat and Rolex gives away their traveling pouches.
