Dear ΩF

For your consideration is my much loved and well looked after first edition Oris Carl Brashear Diver in mint condition.

In my opinion this is nicest of the bronze watches out there, and of the bronze Orises (or is it Ori?), it is most certainly my top choice. Every successor to this was a fail imho...the chrono too thick, the small seconds dial too noisy, and the cotton-candy simply 🤦-worthy.

I have had the pleasure of ownership for several years, but alas, the only constant with watch collecting is change...

The patina on this one is just lovely...and is very very very difficult to capture in pictures (they do it no justice)...more on that further down.

Lets first take a look at the watch.

Dial is a beautiful glossy navy blue, with guilt accents and cream/beige (not green) markings and lume plots.

The case has no dings or scratches and is fairly evenly patinated. Naturally the edges that get sleeve/pullover/general contact have slightly less patina than the parts which don't get touched (and this is where the magic lies). I have never reset the patina...and its something I wouldn't consider as all character will be gone in a few minutes.

Not much to say about the caseback, other than it too is in mint condition, has had a caseback sticker since I received it some 6 years ago, and there is some 'cheese' present...mainly dust and lint likely from the leather pouch it spent its life in when not on my arm.

Some repeat shots in the sun.

It comes with this extra Oris strap which is what I wore it on most , as even though it is for the slightly smaller Diver 65, it looks great on this watch.

What you will receive is a full set, including hang-tags.

I was not such a fan of the original strap.

About the patina

In the above pictures it generally looks monotonic. This is not how it is in hand.

I tried in vain several times to capture the patina of this watch as its seen with the eye. Its near impossible. What I can say is that when it hasn't been worn for a while and one whips it out of the watch storage, the 'lighter' parts (the edges...so the bezel edges and raised parts of the numerals, the case edges, the crown edges etc) take on almost red hue...its beautiful. Then after a day or so being worn they become more golden. Where they pop the most is in indirect lighting ... actually where there is hardly any light. Here I tried to capture this patina with a macro lense in a shadowy part where it was especially pleasing to the eye.

Sale terms and conditions.

For a local sale : 2600 CHF (USD / EURO / GBP equivalent) wired directly to my bank (Transferwise) account. Bank-wire will be local to you, so no stress there. More currencies are available upon request. For an international sale, add shipping.

The watch and I are in Switzerland, and so F2F could happen here. Returns are accepted only if grossly misrepresented. You will get what you see in these pictures which are of a decent quality and high resolution, so I don't believe there is any chance of misrepresentation. Feel free to request any further angles etc.

All criticisms of the watch are welcome.

Thanks ΩF for this space

PS: some wrist shots highlighting the strap capabilities...

Great watch from a great guy. Love my (2nd) Carl B. Bronze. Hoping mine darkens like Eugene's, although it's well on the way. Oris knocked it out of the park with this blue dial, especially when combined with the bronze. The size is very comfortable also.

GLWS Eugene, but you'll likely regret it. Great opportunity for anyone interested in a bronze watch. And a chance to make a friend in Switzerland 😁

And a chance to make a friend in Switzerland 😁

Thanks Dave. As you should know, you don’t need to buy a watch from me to make a friend in CH 👍

Slight price drop and bump.
