Are you a diver? Is the 60 min bezel important to you? If so, maybe Tag. I am not a diver and found the 24 hr bezel more useful. Oris seems to have a more legible bezel. How do you feel about aluminum versus ceramic? How do you feel about the shape of the bezel? Me, i like the round Oris shape with it's Breitling feel. Both about the same size although the Oris is thicker. The Tag looks like it might wear smaller. MSRP is similar. Others have said the Tag might have a better resale. Conjecture but possible. Oris is getting more following so it may hold up. I don't know what kind of discounts you can get with a Tag but I got lucky with about 50% off of my Oris GMT (not the LE here.) Both lumes are bright. Is the GMT useful to you? I liked the Oris GMt for it's potential as a travel and vacation watch. Both are 300m. The Tag has more brushing so might appeal to you as more of a tool watch feel? Personnel i thought the Oris had just the right amount of polishing in the right places. I like the Oris on the bracelet. It seems better integrated and balanced with the lugs. What do you think? Here's mine.
Both are very nice but I like the TAG better and would choose it solely on my aesthetic preference. Plus I would enjoy a green dial in my collection and wouldn’t go further out of this price point for a steel watch with green dial.
The Tag...only because of the integrated/proprietary (whatever it's called these days) strap on the Oris. have fun kfw
This may be helpful if you haven’t seen it. It’s comparing that Aquaracer model to an Oris Aquis. Personally I would get the Aquaracer between these two models, much prefer its design.
I would be in a Certina for this price range https://www.certina.com/dk/philosophy Dual shock system https://www.certina.com/dk/watch/ds-action-diver/c0324071705100
tough call. The blue is traditional and the green is more "different". The date function is much cooler on the green, so I would choose that.
If it has to be one or the other then I would go with the Tag only because my wife is a prolific Tag hoarder. Oris makes some interesting stuff and isn't afraid of bold designs so we have a couple of them as well. The Certina posted above is a great alternative to the Tag and Oris and has been on my mind lately too. Bracelet of course. Rubber straps are for cigs
I see this watches almost every workday and I would have to say the Oris. For watches at the $2k mark, I don't believe any brand comes close to their dials. They are simply stunning for the price! Also, the Aquis wears very comfortably and smaller on the wrist. The TAG is nice, but the Oris feels more special for sure.
