I definitely want to hear Rick's answer but I just want to add, I think it's possible some of the people posting in this thread don't understand just how incredibly damaging the "defund the police" movement was among certain voters. I realize that the reality is largely that it was a fringe portion of the left, and not a Democratic Party ideal, but it was allowed to have way too much voice. There should have been a concerted response from the Democratic Party that encouraged Law and Order and reform. It's my sincere hope that all of us encourage our Representatives along this line of reasoning for the future.
Democrats are terrible at messaging. Defund the police should've been reform the police.

Change is good. Chaos is not.

I fail to understand what you saw in the first term that led you to believe Trump’s second administration would be any less chaotic this time.

Tells us about the chaos. Have services broken down? Government broken down? City services broken down? Schools closed? Hospitals closed? Roads closed? People running the streets fighting for basics? Military deserting ? Terrorists roaming America blowing buildings ?

Name the chaos.

Chaos because NBC says CNN says some other alphabet news

Ohh some world leader upset because the US is changing how they are doing business

Name all the chaos that turning the world upside down

You call 150% tariffs stability? The fact that supply chains are going to break down if for no other reason than companies panic buying to avoid the tariffs, then buying will cease because the Orange Wonder is known to change his mind in a whim? The fact that he will not commit to upholding the rule of law and/or the Constitution that he has sworn to uphold (twice)?

I happen to agree with Trump that something needed to change in the trade situation between the U.S. and China, but to drag 180 other countries into it (especially our closest trading partners) is simply not the way to go, IMO. I hope you don’t need to buy a new car anytime soon.

By the way, I very rarely watch network news with the possible exception of CSpan and PBS. Please don’t make assumptions about people you don’t know.

Yes. I have friends and colleagues in health care and medical research. The cuts have been arbitrary, devastating, and reckless. Making America great again doesn’t mean adopting practices from the 1800’s…

Yeah, I don't get the "anti-woke" BS. I don't get that Trump is more morally palatable.

I mean, since this thread has gone to hell.

There is definitely a brain-drain, more to China and Europe, but also countries like Australia and Singapore. This will compound the problems created by the reduction of new scientists and engineers that will be trained in the US due to the cuts in research funding and attacks on premier universities. Not exactly designed to make America great, assuming that technological leadership is part of the equation.

I guess we can just build a big wall around the country ... mine coal, build factories ... we will be great again.

Yep, that's happening as well. Countries around the world are aggressively recruiting American talent. For generations, the talent came to the US following opportunities ... now it is starting to leave.

Serious question- why are we still giving a poster like the one you responded to any platform or response? This person isn't just arguing in bad faith, and without logic, they are also wildly hypocritical and have been actively hostile. There's a quote from Ethan Allen that even if not perfect, comes to mind:
Ethan Allen said:
Those who invalidate reason ought seriously to consider whether they argue against reason with or without reason; if with reason, then they establish the principle that they are laboring to dethrone; but if they argue without reason (which, in order to be consistent with themselves, they must do), they are out of the reach of rational conviction, nor do they deserve a rational argument

This is just (slightly) an issue:
no ability to respond to questions in a cohesive, reasoned manner;
the expectaction that others stick to cohesive, reasoned responses;
the near-certainty that those reasoned, cohesive responses will be rejected as unreasonable.

I think letting this sort of behavior have any platform in discourse once it has established itself has become a serious issue in the united states. There's a time and place to say "yes, your freedom of speech, but if you're going to be that ignorant take it to 4chan because I'm not going to talk to you."

When asked in an Meet the Press interview if it’s his responsibility to uphold the constitution, Trump replied “I don’t know.”

This, despite the oath of office he took expressly requiring him to do so.

But boy that Kamala gave some really bad interviews…

Yes, the “brain drain” to the US has been an on again, off again issue here in Canada over the decades. We have had some great efforts to create the sort of environment that not only keeps our talent here, but also attracts it from other countries.

On the tech sector BlackBerry (Research In Motion originally) was critical to making a region in Ontario (Waterloo) a hub of that sort of business. One of the founders also created an institute for theoretical physics there as well.

Could this forum suck any worse? Come on guys! Why this thread has gotten the oxygen it has sucked out of this forum, I will never know! I come here because I want to get away from all of the political garbage out there. I want to talk about and learn more about Omega watches…and watches in general. I wish you guys would put this much passion into the other threads. Are the moderators asleep at the switch? WTF?
Now the hissing can commence!

Update: No Movie Tariffs on Russian and North Korean movies. North Korea produced some funny propaganda Movies ! Good Times !
And : Time to buy Indian Bollywood shares quickly ? And Business related: Incorporate the " Presidential Sharpie Distribution " Company. Sell the beloved Trumpl Sharpie for executive Orders with a stack of Blanc Executive order forms to his Followers, that they can feel in Control and powerful. $ 470 plus shipment they will definitely pay . Can order the bloody Neighbours Dog to shut up or get shot ( for example ) . Can be produced entirely in the US without Tariffs. I just charge a small fee for my intellectual property here ; let's say 40 % from the Brutto Profit... Payable in Swiss Francs; like the Bribes to the extended Trumpl Family .
