Why Trump wants tariffs and cutting govt services and firing govt employees. So, he can do away with income taxes for the rich. The tariffs enough to pay for reduced Govt. Just a new form of taxes maybe we should remember the Boston tea party when tea was overtaxed like these tariffs what happened there was not pretty, we kicked the king out of controlling us.

It's almost as if he is trying to collapse the economy. Meanwhile, no tariffs on Russia and the Russian ruble has incresed 28% vs the dollar in 2025.

I have read in more than one place that both the Russians and Chinese refer to our president as "Comrade", because he has done more to advance Russian and Chinese interests than anyone else in their countries.

Whether this is by design or ignorance is anyone's guess.

1000% agreed. He's grew up wanting to be a Russian, and kept himself surrounded by them in the business deals. Their backing was largely was he was able to do some deals in the first place.

He even blatantly does it out in front to the world and then denies, it, just like his Russian hero.

On the 'plus' side of things, traffic in DC shouldn't be as bad this summer. And it should be easier to get into some restaurants on Fri/ Sat nights. If they are able to stay open, that is.

Everyone knows US Government agencies at level are the model and efficiency. Everyone knows government employees do their jobs at 100%. Everyone knows these government employees would work for free just too help their fellow citizens.
Everyone knows Russian is an economic and military powerhouse that all the world wants to emulate. The three year war with Ukraine showcasing Russian military might. Thousands and thousands dying each year in the 3 year war. The world only wishes they could join and feels the euphoria of battle. The Ruble at 81 to a 1 Worthless American dollar. The entire world clamoring for Russian technology. The worlds migrants fighting one another to enter the workers paradise of the former Soviet Union.
Trump and his hair brain economic policy. It has only been two weeks but come on, we need instant gratification. Policy that takes longer than 24 hours in the news cycle must be a boondoggle. Demanding reciprocal 0 tariffs or balanced tariffs. My God, what an asinine thought.
All Trump needs to do is say please and grovel to the Russians and Chinese. Then these two will shower the US with trilateral love and affection.

Really the moderators must be fit to be tied with bashing of the lovable Trumpy and his debacle as described above.
Yup 2 weeks into tariffs and all the bullshit
3 years into the Ukraine/Russian troop slaughter which in reality is just glorious warfare that Trump should stay out of and let the killing continue. Provide more weapons. Hell, give the most lethal to both sides. Love the daily body count.

Well, this thread is really just about the tariffs and other trade war stuff.

Not DOGE, and certainly it’s not about the war in Ukraine because Trump ended that on his first day in office, which was the same day he ended the Israel-Hamas war and lowered all the grocery prices.
