Hello all,

I have a very special piece here. It is an original Omega Speedmaster “Japan Racing” limited edition from 2004. 2004 is also the number of pieces made.

It is a reissue of the absurdly rare orange and gray racing dial from the early 1970’s. According to Moonwatch Only, 15 examples of the originals have been observed. Eric Wind has one of these currently listed on his site at the heady price of $79,500!

The problem with these Japan Racing Speedys is that the dials were formerly available as an OEM aftermarket part so it’s hard to verify whether it is original or a mod, especially with the archives closed at the current time. I am providing a print out from the Omega database with the matching serial number on the back of the lugs. I had opened the caseback with my watchmaker at that time and verified the serial number on the caliber but I don’t have a picture of it (it’s hard to get that photo anyway).

I also found that the Andrea Foffi Magister book provided a serial number of their Japan Racing Speedy which only differs from this one by 118.

I think together this provides pretty decent documentation that this is original, even without papers or archive.

I am including 2 extra links as well. Currently it is sized for my 6.5 inch wrist in the middle microadjust hole.

Thank you Omegaforums for the space. I have a few references here, I am an NAWCC and Redbar member and maintain an active watch Instagram account and a not-so-active watch blog. So in other words I’m not a dealer but I’m not a shady dude either.

On to the photos!

I’m not sure if there is a way to edit the photos/text of this sales post but I realized the picture shows 4 links. I’m removing one link from this sale so it comes with 3 extra links (see photo)

Price reduced and is now firm. Any less and I'd rather keep it. Thanks
