Hi!

I have the opportunity to buy a vintage speedmaster but I feel lost in the jungle of serial numbers and small variations in appearance.

Does it look like this one has the original and correct dial, hands etc. and what is the approximate market value?

It’s better to include all information. If you’ve been offered it, what’s the asking price?

It appears largely correct, but;

1. The case has been polished. It’s not possible to say how badly from those photos.
2. The pictures are highly enhanced. It’s not possible to judge the dial condition or attractiveness from them.
3. Bracelet is wrong.

From what I can see it could be worth anywhere from £3500 to £6000 depending on the condition.

The lume on the dial looks kind of weird and toothpasty, but the photos are also really bad. The case is obviously pretty rough, but at first glance I'd say the most important thing is to get a better look at the dial.

Strange end-links.

Looks like most of the important bits are there. The biggest detractor is going to be the case. For a CB case, you want to see those facets.

7k € or offer, I do not have the chance to inspect it further but have asked for better pictures. The seller is legit but not specialised in watches. I can return it after inspection but at a cost…

I thought so too, what about the colour of the lume, shouldn’t it be darker by now if it is original?

It’s not possible to generalize about that. But better photos will help.

Better do some research, start with
speedmaster101.com.
The only shortcut when buying a Speedmaster is very expensive.

Here is a very interesting video about 105.012´s, and lots of detailed info regarding the CB case!

Enjoy, and please do come back with more info about your Speedy adventure?

And here are a lot of nice pictures of CB´s.
Compare with the one you are looking at, and you could use the pictures here for reference.

Thank you for all the help and support!
I took a chance and offered 5k but it got refused 🙁 guess I will play it cool and wait for a counter offer.

Still very uncertain about the condition but from what I have managed to find on the market I have estimated a worst case value at 5k and best case at 10k.

Can the seller not provide better photos?

It amazes me how some people expect to sell an item for several thousand with such shit photos and when asked, they often reply with “oh the conditions great, trust me”
