Hi everyone,

I am considering buying this watch.

How original is it? Apparently it comes with the original box and papers that say model no 1014/101, and the watch case is numbered 1003, so is it correct to assume these papers are incorrect? What is the model ref? The crown also looks a bit ropey, is it a replacement?

Seller cannot take the caseback off and I'm not a Rolex guy, so please help me out!

Cheers

Have the seller at least remove the strap...Between the lugs at 12:00 should be the case ref number, and @6:00 the SN to help date it.

These threads are worthless without asking prices..

Asking prices always seem to be stratospheric...But that wasn't the OP's question (whether it's a good buy, etc).

Thanks the comments guys, I was actually asking for a friend who wanted to bid on the watch (he doesn't have a forum account).

Thanks, you were entirely correct about the intent of the post. IMO a good watch is a good watch and a bad one is a bad one, regardless of price... unless of course the price is so low you wouldn't care... in which case it wouldn't require checking with the forum!
