Welcome to the forum @Imsal. Please post pictures, not just the link to the listing. Kindly let us know what you think of the watch, and the folks here will confirm or correct your research. It would help to know why you are asking the question as well. Are you buying, selling or just curious?

Don’t confuse this with the earlier 5xx powered devilles which are more elegant with a better movement.

The seller states that the dial, movement, case and crown are original. I'm looking for a dress watch to wear personally for work. Please see pics. I like the clean look but perhaps I'm mistaking this for earlier de villes. The seller is down to £595 so far. I value your opinion?

I think it’s a buy in the 250-350 quid range, 400 or more can get you better watches that are more interesting and special

For that price you can get the ‘original’ 166.020 DeVille from the 60’s with the better movement. I think there’s one for sale in the UK in the private sales area.

I like it. The seller does not have much information on it - Could not advise on last service or what calibre or share movement pics or whether it's painted or not. Any help would be appreciated?

I don't think it's painted since I can see swiss made.

It might be a good idea to put your credit card into a old pickled herring container, fill it with water, and hide it in the back of your freezer for a while. If you don't eat pickled herring, that's okay, I'll give you @JwRosenthal 's mailing address and you can send it to him. In the interim, you can read these two threads to start prepping yourself for enjoyably pursuing and purchasing a really nice watch

Ya know Dave, the Canadians could have had it all…French food, British culture and American technology. But instead, you guys chose British food, French technology and American culture.
