Opinions on Constellation

Have been keen on having a 2852 for some time and have come across this one. Any opinions? Looks genuine? Thought the C in "officially" looked odd at first... a bit bold, but have seen similar looks on others.

Hands are strategically placed NOT to be able to evaluate fonts and crosshair seems very bold.

Better pix in high-rez in natual light will help us help you

Very promising, though very polished.

On many examples the cross hair stops at the minute markers, this one goes to the end of the dial, isn't there a rule on that feature?

Too polished for my taste. Look at the stars on the medallion.

I always thought 12 sided until the pie pan edge. Domed until the outerrim.

I think it's ok in terms of originality. A trifle over polished, though.

So think we concluded it is genuine anyway. Also think it's a bit polished maybe, but is it that bad? I do prefer completely unpolished, but thought this one was acceptable... but apparently not 😀

Thanks for all the feedback! Learnt something new there on the crosshair lenghs!

If you usually like unpolished pieces this example is not for you, the dial looks original but also have some patina.
There are better 2852 out there for sure, but it also often shows in the price.
Good luck with the hunt, its a very nice model 😀

I was following this auction as well (actually it got re-listed a few times as the reserve price had not been reached previously). I was personally put off by the overpolished medallion myself, but was interested what price it would fetch. I thought I'd share it for the benefit of everyone. I hope the OP doesn't mind.
It finally went for slightly over EUR 900. Not totally out of this world for this condition in my (unexperienced) opinion.

IMO pretty expensive for a polished case and a non-pie pan dial with patina, but since good ones can cost 2000EUR + there is not that suprising!

Skipped it as well. It did not feel 100%, but as mentioned... if it was 100% the price would be higher as well so...
