I don't thinks it's a franken or a redial.

Thank you! Much appreciated and let’s see what other experts say.

I think you're expecting a definitive answer and no-one can give that with watches of this era but, look at the post count of the people who've commented and you'll see you've got responses from some highly regarded members.

For what it's worth, for me, the dial is absolutely fine and sometimes the hands don't follow the typical length rules - these also look fine. The movement looks like it needs a service, regardless of what the advert says. These are a little trickier than the sixties calibers so you may pay more for a proper service.

Good luck, Chris

Thank you Cris!
I’m aware that it’s hard to give a final word when one only sees pictures.

Most that's worth saying has already been said, but I would stress that it really is difficult to say with certainty if a watch is correct or not. In my opinion there is a discrepancy between the dial and the case. While @gatorcpa* has a point that dials age differently from cases, this one looks to my like the dial furniture is rose gold and that clashes massively with the yellow gold case. If I were to make a snap judgement, I'd say that the dial and movement has come from a worn out rose gold capped watch and has been transplanted into a yellow gold case.

It may not be so, but do you find the combination particularly attractive, @hegner?

*sorry, meant @X350 XJR - I don't know why I always get the two of you confused 🤦

Yes, I find it attractive but since I’m not a collector I would have the dial and hands refinished to look more atractive to me. My main concern is if the movement is really fine as advertised and watch authentic.

Original dial, hands and case.

Just not original to same watch.

It’s a shame, as I really like that dial style.

I don't get it. If the plan is to refinish the watch what difference does it make what it looks like now? 😕

Most, if not all, collectors here would not refinish a watch face/hands.

Even if the dial is redone (don’t do it, please), it will still have pink gold hands and markers with a yellow gold capped case.

Can’t fix that.

Agree 100%. Mirror indexes are red gilt, but the case is yellow gold cap. That's the tell.

I just wanted to know if it’s a true Omega 100% original as seller says.
Well, I’m not a collector and I think I could not stand that patina and so. Unfortunately, new Omegas don’t look attractive to me.

I still don’t know if it will be redialed.
BTW, I’d love if it was all rose gold 😀

There is a problem with what defines originality. They are all certainly Omega parts.

If you pursue a redial, in my eyes, this would render the watch unoriginal (unoriginal paint, craft etc). :\ 100% originality really shouldn't matter then.

You could wait for a vintage Omega which has negligble patina and is all original— especially if a new Omega is within your means.
